The thing I dreaded most about checking glucose levels was pricking my fingers. It's not fun. This one isn't bad, and in fact, lets you use Alternative Site Testing. It comes with the clear lancet cap for AST, which many other brands I looked at that did AST did not provide. They made you order separately. It's easy to use and the test strips aren't that pricey. It is, however, a basic glucometer, which is fine for me.

So far so good. I used the One-Touch Ultra before and this unit seems to work as well. I am concerned, however, that the manual indicates a new battery will be needed every 50 or so tests. I have not got there yet, but the Ultras needed maybe a battery maybe every 12-18 months for me. I only stopped using the Ultras because the cheaper strips were getting too hard to find. I have yet to try the computer integration, Seems good so far ...
